Joyce
“Priscilla” Rush received her Master of Music degree in Vocal
Performance, and her Bachelor of Education degree in Vocal Music from
the University of Toledo. In 1989, Ms. Rush won 1st place at
the Ohio NATS Vocal Competition in the advanced women category and was
the 20th Annual Concerto Competition winner in 1990. She is
the co-founder of Charismata Academy of Performing & Fine Arts where she
teaches voice and piano. Also, she has worked for The Toledo School for
the Arts as a Vocal Music Teacher as well as for the Toledo Public
Schools as a General Music Teacher. During her undergraduate and
graduate work at the University of Toledo, Ms. Rush was awarded several
scholarships.
In light of her love for gospel music,
which has always been a part of her life, Ms. Rush has sung with many
gospel artists and was voted Best All Time Gospel Soloist in 1995 at The
Gospel Music Awards, Toledo, Ohio. She has appeared as lead vocals and
has conducted songs for live-recorded gospel concerts with artists such
as, Rance Allen, Edwin Hawkins, Keith Dobbins, Dennis Byrd and Chris
Byrd. Joyce “Priscilla” Rush is presently singing with gospel recording
artist “Chris Byrd & True Victory”. During her undergraduate years and
during 1 year of graduate school, Ms. Rush was the music director for
the UT Gospel Choir and was very active in Opera Workshop and Musical
Productions put on by UT’s Music Department. Ms. Rush has also enjoyed
singing Commercials for Ken R Incorporated and Northcoast Productions.
Also, in the ministry of music Ms. Rush
has served as Choir Director at the Mt. Pilgrim Church [Pastor Raymond
G. Bishop], Music Director at the Riverside Baptist Church [Pastor Tom
Barber] and the New Light Baptist Church [Pastor M. L. Gabriel]. In the
music business Priscilla has worked as the Director of Operations for
Sac Kloth Records and a Tracking Agent for Minstrel House Music/Sac
Kloth Records. She is a graduate of The Cataclysm I Foundational class
of “2000” [Evangelist Vera Armstrong]. Presently, Ms. Rush is the
Minister of Worship at the Mt. Pilgrim Church and is working on her
first solo CD Project. Most importantly, Ms. Rush loves the Lord Jesus
Christ, her husband Milton L. Rush Sr. and their three lovely children
Janeisha, Milton Jr. and Josiah. |
